The Network

How the network keeps a pet’s care team in sync.

Every member of the care team connects once. From then on, messages, handoffs and records move between the people caring for the same pet: structured, permissioned and tracked from start to finish, whatever software each of them runs.

Why an exchange

Practice software runs the practice. VetLoop connects them.

Human healthcare has shared standards and health information exchanges, so a patient’s record can follow them between providers. Veterinary medicine has fax machines, phone calls and PDFs attached to emails.

VetLoop sits above the practice management system, whether that is ezyVet, Avimark, Cornerstone or something else, and gives every practice one way to send and receive what a case needs.

Structured, not scanned

Referrals, documents and discharge summaries travel as typed records with their context attached, so the receiving team can work from them on arrival.

Permissioned by relationship

Patient records are shared only with the practices on that case.

Traceable end to end

Every referral keeps a history of who did what, and when, across every handoff.

Before and after

The same clinical handoff, without the rebuild.

Finding a practiceA phone number someone remembers, or a search and a cold call.Search the directory, connect once, refer with one click from then on.

Questions and updatesA coordinator calls, waits on hold, and relays messages by hand. Both practices see the same status and message each other on the case.
Discharge summaryArrives late, goes missing, or lands in the wrong inbox.Returns to the referring vet on the same record, with the recheck plan.

What moves on the network

Referrals came first. They won’t be the last.

Referrals are the highest-stakes exchange in veterinary care, so they were built first. Each new kind of exchange runs on the same connection, so practices already on the network get it without setting anything up again.

Live today

  • Referrals. Send, accept, track and close, with full clinical history.
  • Secure messaging. Clinician to clinician, attached to the case.
  • Records and documents. Labs, imaging and history shared with the practices on the case.
  • Discharge and follow-up. Structured summaries and recheck plans back to the referring vet.
  • Practice directory. General, specialty and emergency practices, one connection away.
  • Team workflows. Priority queues, role-based access and a history on every referral.

Next on the network

  • Records requests. Ask for and receive history from any connected practice.
  • Peer-to-peer consults. Clinical advice between practices, no patient transfer needed.
  • PMS sync. Information flows in and out of the system each practice already runs.
  • Network analytics. Where cases go, what comes back, and how fast.
  • Beyond the clinic. Grooming, boarding, wellness and rehab businesses, in early access.

Security and procurement

Built for the way multi-site networks actually operate.

An exchange is only as useful as the trust each practice places in it. These are requirements of the network, not add-ons.

Practice-level data boundaries

Each practice’s data stays isolated. Sharing happens through the case, not around it.

Role-based access

Practice admins decide who joins the team and who can manage practice settings.

Audit trail on every case

Status changes, messages and documents are recorded in each referral’s history.

Encrypted in transit and at rest

Built to pass procurement at a multi-site group, not retrofitted to.
